Dear Diary,

Writing things down might make this place less confusing, so let us put these last few days to paper.

Day 1:
  • Crawled out of a well. And no, I don't have any further explanation for it. Mind's a bit foggy on the details of everything prior, but I'm getting snippets of who I am if not what I've done.
  • So I can do magic. That's a thing. I vaguely remember why; I swore myself to something. A cause? A god? I don't know, but I gather that I haven't broken my oath yet.
  • Met some folks, and ventured forth to kill. It felt familiar.
Day 2:
  • Woke up to go watch a trial. The trial was entirely a farce. A man had ventured south an breeched the walls of a lifeless city, awakening some constructed guardians within. This is what we are told to do from the moment we escape that damned well. Anyway; the man is declared "Guilty, to a degree" (Whatever manner of cow pat that sentence is) of endangering the town and is told to - Get this - he's told to return to the city and kill more of the guardians.

So it all boils down to the town leadership saying "Why didn't we think of that?" and then sending him forth under the guise of it being their idea. Pure farce.
  • Pledged my skills to the man's ventures, just to see the town leadership eat crow. This isn't justice. If anything, it's theft.
  • While the group was standing around, planning for the attack, eating, drinking, listening to the leader, I was struck by the familiarity of the situation. In a past life, this was commonplace to me. Maybe I was a soldier? Maybe I was a thief? But what sort of thief swears oaths firmly enough to grant power?

Day 3:
  • Spent some time watching the tried man, Cynamaer, and his cohort. I've got a good feeling about them. They seem, amongst themselves where they are most comfortable, to be honest folk. The man in gold seems an ass, though.
  • Surveyed near the Ceaseless City. Plenty of resistance, even a few miles outside of it. Mostly constructs and vermin. I'll need to stock up on those oils
  • Chiara got cornered in the market, today, after running her mouth in the usual way. I tried defending her, but she's dealing with something that just doesn't quit. After she made her escape, I calmed the crowd and caught up with her. There's a lot to work on, there.

Day 4
  • Met a man named Rin, who didn't seem terribly confident in their ability. Showed him around some of the less safe (but also not LEAST safe) areas so that he could get his footing. Seems a good sort, to be sure.
  • Some dwarf was at an anvil, opening wounds whenever he struck it. Bizarre. That would be like a fish drowning, no?
